I have two girlfriends right now who in the month of February both got together with a blast from the past!
One went on vacation to Mexico and caught up with a friend from 18 years ago, while the other had a friend from 22 years ago show up at her birthday party saying: “Remember I told you when my relationship is over I am coming to get you?”
She said: “Uh yes, but that was 5 years ago.”
“Well here I am and I am here to make you mine.” he said.
I might be paraphrasing a bit, it was all said in Spanish (a language I’m still learning) so I am not sure exactly but this is what it came down to.
I was extremely happy when it happened for my first friend, and again super happy for my second friend when she told me that the only guy that had caught my attention at the party had come to claim her after all this time. Hearing a similar out-of-the-blue love story like this in the time span of one week I was like; Wait, is this a new trend?
And if it is, do I have anyone from more or less 20 years ago that I would love to have come back into my life and sweep me off my feet?
The rather disappointing answer is ‘No, I don’t’. I met my first husband when I was 15 and stayed with him until I was 28, there were some boyfriends in between husband #1 and husband #2 but I wouldn’t wish any of them back into my life. I was married to husband #2 for 7 years and then had a string of short-lived flings with guys that were either hiding a wife or a girlfriend or were smoking weed which are both dealbreakers for me. There’s only one person in my life that I had hoped would come back for the longest time until one day I questioned what I ever thought I liked in this guy anyway. He did promise me once that he would come for me as soon as he had the guts to leave the situation he was in but then took it back a couple of years later saying that if we would have ever been together it was then. It wasn’t going to happen anymore for us now. So, I think my guy is going to be someone I am yet to meet.
But because I am a romantic at heart, I love my friends’ stories of love circling back into their lives this way, and both men willing to pack up everything to move to Ibiza to be with them. Imagine someone being so sure of wanting to be with you that they would in one case move across the world to do so, while the other guy also has to move cross country as we live on an island. It just makes it all even more romantic.
I know both girls from 2018 and 2019 so we have been friends for a while, I met them through their business. One is a therapist and the other a beauty specialist and I have seen them both struggle in these years to find someone that is serious, that wants a relationship, that is committed and wants to settle down with them. These are beautiful, talented women, funny, sexy, and financially independent. When we are out in the streets men stop to stare and obviously these women aren’t 20 anymore….
It made me wonder if the reason they kept being passed by, by other guys was because their soul knew that these men would come for them at this time and all of this was to make sure they would still be available when true love came knocking at their door?
If that is the case, there may still be hope for me as well. I have managed to travel the world, without meeting my perfect match. I stayed in 5-star hotels in places such as Italy, Egypt, India, and Dubai never once meeting anyone that piqued my interest. Maybe it was because the time wasn’t right yet. I do strongly believe in deep soul contracts, Divine Timing, and your perfect fit.
So, perhaps 2022 is the year that my partner by Divine Right shows up unexpectedly too. Universe, I am open to big happy surprises in love.
